Warrington published their first official programme in December 1907 for the visit of the first New Zealand touring team. The second programme was produced the following October for the visit of the Australians. The first programme for a club match dates from November 1913 and a match against Leeds at Wilderspool. Until just after the second world war programmes consisted of a single sheet of folded paper and included the team line ups along with some editorial content and club news. The programme expanded over the years to include photos (first black and white and eventually colour) and gradually became more of a magazine. The club stopped producing programmes during the Covid-19 lockdown period and when they resumed, they evolved into an online publication with a physical version available on subscription. These finally ceased at the end of the 2024 season and the last Warrington programme was for the play-off game against St Helens on 28 September. We’d love to hear from you if you think you can fill any of the gaps in our collection.
